Dev Deepawali (or Dev Diwali) is one of the biggest festivals of this holy city
Benares (Varanasi), an annual festival of light and fervour celebrated on the full moon
of the Hindu month of Kartik 15 days after Diwali. On the occasion of Dev Diwali, the
stairs at the ghat were decorated with flowers and artists created rangolis and painted
The festival of lights of the God is prominent in the world. Some 15 lakh earthen
lamps were lit on the ghats of Ganga to mark the beginning of celebrations of Kartik
Purnima. Many classical dancers also performed during the event. Dev Diwali is
meant to be a celebratory function after Diwali when a large number of lamps are lit
on the banks of rivers and other ghats on Kartik Purnima, where the entire city of
Varanasi comes alive. the temples abuzz with special poojas and people dressed in
their traditional best, celebrating the festival of lights. This evening, get astounded by
the spectacle that is Dev Diwali which is sure to give you goosebumps. Hop on a boat
and row past the endless rows of lights along the Ghats. The ganga ghats glows in

Day 01: Arrive Varanasi + Sarnath Tour
Arrive at Varanasi airport in the afternoon(flight timings to be advise), Once you arrive at
the airport met & assist by our Aradhya Travels representative outside the exit gate.
Transfer to the Hotel for refreshment. Post lunch at the hotel.
We leave for a day excursion to Sarnath- a place where Lord Buddha delivered his first
sermon to his disciples in deer park. We cover the buddhist sites – Dhamekha Stupa,
Chaukhandi Stupa & archaeological museum.
Return back to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02: Varanasi sights + Dev Dipawali by Boat ride
Morning boat ride on the river Ganges, a mystical & spiritual experience you will have
watching locals/devotees offering water & flowers to the Sun God. Return back to hotel for
breakfast. Later visit the most religious temples- Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Shri Tulsi Manas
Temple, Bharat Mata Temple, Sankat Mochan temple(Hanuman Temple), Durga Devi
Temple & Banaras Hindu University.
Evening head towards the important ceremony on River Ganges to enjoy Dev Diwali fest
with lamps(diyas). Enjoy the picturesque view of ghats alongside on the boat. The Ghats
immersed into the light of small candles decorated on this festive night. You will get a
chance to view people flowing thousands of Diyas(lamps) in the holy water of river Ganges
dedicating to their Gods as per rituals , beliefs & culture.
